A night porter is a porter who is on duty during the night. A hotel commonly has a night porter to attend to the needs of guests and other incidents during the night. Traditionally a night porter might also be required to perform sundry maintenance and cleaning tasks such as polishing boots, emptying spittoons and laying fires. "examples there are as many interpretations of the job as there are hotels with night service. A position of trust is needed within this role you can either get a gem or the bottom of the barrel"〔“I first thought of writing an article to the caterer or to write a book on the subject. As I have moved back in to the role from a position of management I have come to realize the need for if not an advanced qualification a standard one to give the employer and the employee peace of mind in their roles. A night porter encompasses at the very least six of a hotels departments and needs a basic grounding or a small induction into these to get the very best out of him. Creating your own businesses standard operating procedures for the night team is strenuously recommended. The advantage of having a night porter means more potential revenue through enabling your business to generate income in to the small hours. Not losing room revenues to staff having to sleep in. A salaried worker on hand to finish ''mis en place'' enabling casual staff to finish earlier. Not to mention the fact that having someone on site adds a security bonus. Depending on their skills and experience most will be able to run an end of shift audit, Sell drinks and set up conference rooms.”〕 == See also == *Caretaker *Concierge *Receptionist 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Night porter」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
